The Perks of Being A Wallflower Book Review

Recently my lovely friend Jordan ( <<<<check out her blog here) lent me The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, as I had been wanting to read it since I watched the film.

The book is about a boy called Charlie who is an outsider, who is caught beetween living life and running from it. He isn't popular, but he isn't a nerd either. He makes friends with Sam and Patrick who he shares a love of music and mixtapes with, and they are also outsiders. They introduce charlie to many new things: Parties, Drugs and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

This book is written as a series of letters to an anonymous recipient, who we never find the identity of. He writes about school and his love of books. Charlie himself is a bit of mystery. He has mental issues, gets angry, sees things and then passes out.
Charlie has had a troubled childhood, with his aunt and he blames himself for what happened.

This was a really great book which I thouroughly enjoyed to read. Stephen Chbosky has managed to make me feel so emotionally attatched to a character and that has never really happened with other books. I 110% reccomend this book, especially if you are a teenager, and also the movie is great too.

Lots of Love
